“The silence was enchanting. Infinite space seemed to enter it, and my spirit, alone with the stars, seemed capable of any adventure.” –W. Somerset Maugham
Sometimes it is easy to forget that a life best lived is one in which we take the time to savour our experiences–to slow the tempo, to relax, to breathe and enjoy the moment we are in. We cling to our comforting, if harried, routines as if there were no other way to live, to experience life before it’s all over. And it will be over.
W. Somerset Maugham is one of my favourite writers and knows a thing or two about adventure and what it means to live a good life. The quote above comes from his memoir The Summing Up.
Live a little.
